One simple question to create massive momentum in your life
I have a confession to make – it’s been a while since my last blog post.
A while longer than I intended.
There has been a lot churning on behind the scenes here.
I have been head down, butt up preparing webinars, pulling together some exciting Life On Your Terms events for the coming months and working with some incredible clients.
There have been late nights and burning the candle at both ends. But the fantastic thing is it doesn’t feel like work at all.
You know what though? For awhile I was hesitating. I saw what I was working towards. And it felt so big, exciting, a little bit scary and it was almost daunting how far away I thought it seemed.
I had two options. Melt down and retreat at the thought of how grandiose and far off in the distance what I wanted seemed. Or, do something, anything.
It was at that moment I realised something so important.
Consistent action, no matter how small is better than no action at all.
Doing something, anything, no matter how small towards the direction of your dreams is far more powerful than you think.
We can often think that we need to do massive things to make an impact.
When really it’s what we do consistently that makes all the difference.
Even if I just write one sentence a day. Post one article. Write one email. Even if I just make one phone call. Attend one meeting. Have one conversation. Go for a quick walk. Meditate for 5 mins.
Doing something small towards what you want is better than, nothing at all.
It’s the first step that is often the most tentative.
But when you take that first step, no matter how small you think it might be and then you ask yourself: “What’s next? What’s another small thing I can do now?” and then do that consistently something magic happens.
Because it is those small consistent actions that when added up create massive momentum. And when momentum takes over, that is powerful stuff.
Sooner or later you realise how far you’ve come and the progress that you have made.
And that dream, that goal is well within your grasp.
